July is the month of jazz and Gaeta and Formia celebrate it with two events – the Gaeta Jazz Festival and the Jazzflirt respectively – which have entered the annual calendar of all enthusiasts and the curious.

Gaeta Jazz Festival, the summer event with music
From 10 to 14 July, the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea hosts the Gaeta Jazz Festival. Five days in which musicians from different musical backgrounds bring a contemporary cross-section of the genre to the stage with experimental and avant-garde projects, halfway between jazz and electronics.
Guests of the event will be artists such as Theo Crocker, C’mon Tigre, Valentina Magaletti with Holy Tongue, Wayne Snow, Maria Chiara Argiro and many others.
The evenings will take place at the Santa Lucia Auditorium, the La Favorita battery and the Giardini dei Bastioni di Carlo V with after shows in various venues in Gaeta.

The 20th edition of Jazzflirt opens in Formia
With Jazzflirt the most traditional part of jazz is celebrated with events taking place as part of the Formi@live – Caposele nights event, supported by the municipality of Formia with the contribution of the Lazio Region. The scenic archaeological area of Caposele is the stage for performances by national and international artists and local talents.
It starts on Wednesday 3 July with the documentary “Iltouch di Piero” on the composer and conductor Piero Umiliani which will be screened at the Arena Santo Janni. The film traces the life and career of the musician through his songs and archive material.
Thursday 4 July: inauguration of the photographic exhibition for the twenty years of Jazzflirt at the municipal court where images of photographers who have immortalized the artists who performed over the years will be exhibited.
Friday 5 July: Illogic Trio, three musicians from Salerno and their artistic project with destabilizing atmospheres and interesting contaminations.
Saturday 6 July: Roberto Ottaviano who with his quintet “Eternal Love” pays homage to Africa at the municipal court.
Sunday 7 July: TETRAD 4et with an entirely original repertoire who on this occasion will present their first CD. Guest of the evening will be the singer Gloria Trapani.
Friday 12 July: Karima and Walter Ricci pay homage to the Italian music of the 50s and 60s.
Saturday 20 July: Elisabetta Serio, Letizia Gambi, Ilaria Capalbo, Elisabetta Saviano and Giovanna Famulari will take us on a “journey between women, made of passion and poetry, energy and femininity, which is rooted in Neapolitan roots, in Mediterranean melodies, in American rhythms and which is expressed through the universal language of jazz.”
Monday 29 July: Danilo Rea brings all his talent to the Jazzflirt stage by making jazz, pop and classical music interact between improvisation and emotion.
Saturday 3 August: Tosca closes the 20th edition of the festival in style with a concert in which it will bring songs from the past and some new features.
