What has changed with the 2022 water bonus?

Families with an ISEE not exceeding € 8,265 and with an ISEE of up to € 20,000 for families with more than 4 dependent children can benefit from the contribution. The beneficiaries of the 2022 Water Bonus are adult citizens residing in Italy who have paid for water efficiency interventions using traceable means of payment. Furthermore, it is necessary to be the outright owner of the property, or title holder on existing buildings, or owners of personal rights on parts of existing buildings or individual real estate units.

What are the refundable jobs

As in the 2021 Water Bonus, the expenses incurred for the replacement of taps, shower heads and shower columns with limited water flow devices, replacement of ceramic sanitary fittings with reduced drainage and for the works of dismantling and decommissioning of pre-existing water systems. In particular:

  • • the supply and installation of taps and appliances for controlling the flow of water with a flow rate equal to or less than 6 litres per minute for bathrooms and kitchens;
  • • the supply and installation of shower heads and columns with water flow rates equal to or less than 9 litres per minute;
  • • the supply and installation of ceramic sanitary bowls and basins with a maximum discharge volume equal to or less than 6 litres.

How to apply for the 2022 Water Bonus

The benefit can be requested by logging in with your SPID or CIE on the 2022 Water Bonus platform created by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. The request can be forwarded by attaching the documents relating to the property in question together with the cadastral identification, the invoice for the works with the applicant’s tax code and the amount of the expenditure incurred for the works carried out by 31 December 2023. Furthermore, given that it is not possible to combine the bonus with other concessions, it is necessary to prove that other bonuses have not been used for the same efficiency measures.   • • the supply and installation of taps and mixers in bathrooms and kitchens, devices for controlling the flow of water with a flow rate equal to or less than 6 litres per minute, and shower heads and shower columns with water flow values equal to or less than 9 litres per minute, including any connected plumbing and masonry work and the dismantling and disposal of pre-existing systems.

A fundamental requirement to benefit from the 2021 water bonus is to be an Italian resident.

How much allowance is with the 2021 water bonus?

With the water bonus, for individuals it is possible to recover 50% of the expenses incurred, therefore €500 for a maximum of €1,000 of expenditure, while for commercial activities it goes up to €2,500 for a maximum of €5,000 of expenses.
